Although Nia is originally from Dwyran, Angelsey she spent most of her childhood in Rhos on Sea, Conwy. Nia studied Welsh at Swansea University before heading off on a whistle stop tour around the world where she eventually settled to live for a year in Istanbul, Turkey where she taught English as a foreign language in a private language school.
Eventually she returned to Wales where she spent a period at Cardiff University studying for a Phd in second language teaching methods. She eventually joined the University as a full time member of staff in the Welsh department. She then changed direction and for the last fifteen years Nia has been a familiar face on S4C having presented a number of programmes which include Cariad@Iaith, Cwpwrdd Dillad, The Royal Welsh Show, Doctor Doctor, Dathlu, the quiz show 0 ond 1 and most recently Hwb. She’s also an experienced documentary producer and loves nothing more than meeting interesting contibutors.
After spending 12 years living in Cardiff, Nia has now settled in Rhostryfan near Caernarfon with her husband Aled and two sons Hedd and Tirion. Nia is a very busy lady juggling motherhood duties and her TV projects and loves every minute of it.
